D/4 -- Monday, October 8, 2012

Lee's Class -- Working on Favorite Place (Day 3)
Students continued to work on favorite place script (saved as favpla 2 lee) for 10 minutes.Students located and saved a pic of the transportation used to arrive at their fav place.  Students added transportation pic's URL and a copy of pic to favpla.   Demo PhotoStory and reminded students not to start recording until all needed fav place components are home directory (favpla doc with fav place URL and pic along with transportation URL and pic, favpla2 doc with finished script, fav place pic file and transportation pic file) (NOTE:  Explained the choice between needed to print and effect use of school's limited resources.). Saved PhotoStory fav place project to home directory.
  • Next time -- Have microphones ready to record.  Open fav place PhotoStory file from home directory NOT PhotoStory.  Some students are ready to record others finishing needed components (see note for students who need help)

Nixon's Class -- Slide show Name pic and Basic Word Tools (Day 1)
Students watched  Nixon Slideshow. Students shared their name pics complete with bows and applauded for each student's hard work. Students learned to use basic tools in MS Word 2007 including:
  • Bold
  • Underline
  • Center Align
  • Color, size and font change
  • Cut, copy and paste
Used the following sentences:
  1. My name is _____________.
  2. I am ___ years old.
  3. I am in Mrs. Nixon's class.
  4. I live in _______________.
  •  Next time -- Students will show what they learned with basic word tools.
