Hilgers' Class --  McDonald's vs Burger King (Day 1)
Students learned how to access nutrition data online at www.nutritiondata.com Students learned how to add nutritional data about a meal at McDonald's (Big Mac, Fries and Sundae) and a meal at Burger King (Whopper, Fries and Sundae Pie) to a spreadsheet in MS Excel.  Students found information on:  Total fat, Cholesterol, Sodium and Carbs.

Veeder's Class --  Edmodo and Food Bank Research (Day 1)
Joined Edmodo groups (School, 4th grade and Class group).  Demo'ed how to access Edmodo Food Bank Assignment and complete assignment.  Students worked on Food Bank Assignment and turned in completed assignment via Edmodo.

Nixon's Class -- 3rd Grade Performance Practice

Students participated in visiting ballet company to learn more about the arts.  Visitors demo'ed several moves and had several students demo the moves for their peers.  Visiting dancers described their professional life in the ballet company.

Reviewed how to create an avatar using Pickaface.net. Students saved avatar to their home directory. Students uploaded it to Edmodo if they chose to update their avatar. Students added their pickaface avatar to their VoiceThread identities. 

Veeder's Class -- Practicing Keyboarding Skills (Substitute due to Ms. Reid's off campus meeting)
Students used Type to Learn to practice keyboarding skills.

Nixon's Class -- Internet Safety (Substitute due to Ms. Reid's off campus meeting)

Students joined Mrs. Hilgers' group for SS. If they chose to do so, students added their new avatar to their Voicethread account.  Some students joined the Edmodo groups (Apex ES, 5th Grade and Hilgers) because their permission form was finally turned in.  Students practiced keyboarding skills while using Type to Learn.

Roberts' Class --  Nature Works (Final Day) and Edmodo

Nature Works Final day Students will reflect on what they experienced during this group project through written expression.  Students will use a word processor to create a paragraph about what they experienced.  Some of the questions to ponder will include:
  1. What would you do differently?
  2. How did each person (including yourself) in your group contribute?
  3. What worked well or not so well during this project?
  4. What should Ms. Reid do differently?
Students joined Edmodo groups (Apex ES, 5th Grade and Roberts).

Stangler's Class --  "NC County" Project (Day 6)

Students candy bar story file from the shared drive.  Saved candy bar story to their home directory.  Follow written directions to format O'Henry story.Studens who finished formatting choose a good choice from the "Good Choice" folder on the shared drive.

Students learned how to add the URL's for their sources to their PowerPoint slides.  Students learned how to save their PowerPoint slides as jpegs for their NC County Project  Students learned how to import their jpegs into a new Voicethread.  Students continued working with their partner or by themselves to collect info about their assigned county for this project as well as creating their PowerPoint.
