Shannon's Class -- Things I Love VoiceThread (Day 2)
Students learned to access and created a Voicethread by uploading their Things I Love.  Students wrote a script for their Things I Love VoiceThread.  Students learned to record their comments and some students recorded their comment on their Things I Love VoiceThread.  Demo'ed how to share VoiceThread with other classmates.
  • Next Time:   Finishing and sharing Things I Love VoiceThread.
Hilgers' Class -- Twalkers on Digital Passport
Students learned to how and why to avoid the dangers of multitasking while using Twalkers on Digital Passport.   Students earned the all 4 required Digital Passport badges and completed Digital Passport Assessment and Dig Passport Twalkers quiz. 
  • Next Time: Students will learn to access and use voki.com to create talking avatars.  
  • Had an additional time in tech on Monday, February 4th -- Students completed Digital Passport badges (Share Jumpers, E-volve, Search Shark and Twalkers) and quizzes (Dig Passport -- Twalkers and Digital Passport Assessment).
Little's Class -- Keyboarding
Students accessed Dance Mat Typing folders in Edmodo.  Students launched Dancemat Typing website.  Students practiced keyboarding.

Reviewed how to add comment to VoiceThread and view 2 windows side-by-side (script and VoiceThread).  Students added their recorded comment as needed.  Reviewed how to share their voicethread.

Students created a poem using the poetry forms or starting from scratch.  Students created a pic in paint or  powerpoint slides with their poem.  Students converted/saved their pictures and/or slides as jpegs.  Some students uploaded their pictures to Voicethread and recorded their poem. 
  • Next Time:  Finishing and sharing poetry Voicethread.  Sending an Edmodo message to me explaining that their poetry VoiceThread is finished.

Reviewed how to create and post an upstander voki.  Students created voki's to explain how they could be an upstander. Students used Search Shark on Digital Passport and earned badges for Share Jumpers and/or E-volve as needed.  After all 3 badges were earned Digital Passport students could return to a Dig Pass fav or an Edmodo app

  • Next Time:  Students learn about dangers of multitasking while using Digital Passport (Twalkers).
Monroe's Class -- Change VoiceThread avatar and commenting on VoiceThread
Students learn to remove the generic voicethread avatar and add their clayyourself avatar.  Students learned to access a shared VoiceThread and add their comment. Students added their comment to their class' Grocery Store VoiceThread while typing text or recording using the microphone.
  • Next Time:  Review creating and posting upstander voki.  Students will  create voki's to explain how they could be an upstander. Students learn about dangers of multitasking while using Digital Passport.

Students used Mrs. Hilgers' powerpoint template (volcanoes) as a guide to create their individual PowerPoint. Students learned to customize their PowerPoint and save their PowerPoint as jpegs. 

  • Next Time:  Students will continue to work on VoiceThread Book Report. Students will learn to upload their saved jpegs to Voicethread.  Students will upload and add their fav paragraph using comment option on Voicethread.

Students logged into Edmodo and completed both their 1st poll and quiz.  Students will join their grade level group and their class group.  Students will learn to access the Edmodo apps.
  • Next Time:   Students learned how to check their badges to verify whether or not they can post.  Students will post or message their goals for 2013 on their classes wall.  Students will learn how to access and use links (including Digital Passport) in Edmodo's library.  Students will learn about online privacy in Share Jumper (Digital Passport).
