B/4 -- Monday, October 21, 2013

Hilgers' Class --  Nature Works (Day 4) -- FINAL DAY
Final group, Coloration, presented to their classmates.  While not presenting the other students were active listeners during each presentation.  Some students asked questions related to the presentation.  Students reflected on what they experienced during this group project through written expression.  Students used word processing to create a paragraph about what they experienced.  Some of the questions they were asked to ponder included:
  1. What would you do differently?
  2. How did each person (including yourself) in your group contribute?
  3. What worked well or not so well during this project?
  4. What should Ms. Reid do differently?
  •  Next Time:  Edmodo -- joining grade level groups, school year group and homeroom group.
Lee's Class --  "NC County" Project (Day 3)

Students continued working with their partner or by themselves to collect info about their assigned county for this project.  Students, who had previously started creating their PowerPoint, continued to work on their PowerPoint.  When the other students finished collecting all of the need info, they started creating their NC County PowerPoints.
  •  Next Time:  Students will learn how to add the URL's for their sources to their PowerPoint slides.  Students learned how to save their PowerPoint slides as jpegs.NC County Project  Students will finish creating their PowerPoint, importing their slides into Voicthread and adding their voiceovers. 
Barefoot's Class -- Practicing Basis Word Processing Skills (Day 3)
Opened basic file from their home directory.  Practiced the following skills: Inserting Clip art; Resizing pictures, Using header.  Saved updated basics file. 
  • Next time:  Review centering, applying bold and italics, color, font, size and underlining.Open candy bar story file from the shared drive.  Save candy bar story to their home directory.  Follow written directions to format O'Henry story. After finishing, students went to Good Choices in shared drive.
