Lee's Class --  Book Trailer (Day 2)

Verified with students that each had book cover saved as a jpg. All students imported book cover jpg to new VoiceThread.  Named new VoiceThread (Book Trailer -- Lee, Description:  title of book by students name, Tags:  Book Trailer, Lee, 4th grade).  Students continued to create their pictures, save these pics as jpgs and import these pics into a Book Trailer VoiceThread. Demo'ed how to save pics as jpg's in both paint.  Demo'ed how to import paint jpgs/pics into VoiceThread.  Students prepared to record their book trailer paragraph(s) into their individual Book Trailer Voicethread. and recorded their reading of this paragraph to the shared Spring Break Voicethread
  •  Next Time: Demo how to save PowerPoint slides as jpgs and import into Book Trailer VoiceThread.  Students will record their book trailer paragraph(s) into their individual Book Trailer Voicethread and share their Voicethreads with others.
Bolebruch's Class --  Internet Safety with NetSafe (Day 2) 

Students opened word doc with header for responses to videos.  Students watched the Understanding Online "Friends" and  "Talk to an Adult You Trust" videos. Students were asked to respond after each video with information about:
  1. What they learned by watching the video
  2. What others need to know about the topic to be safe online
 Students saved their changes to netsafe doc.
Reynolds' Class -- Keyboarding and Internet Safety (Digital Passport -- Search Shark)

Students accessed Dance Mat Typing folders in Edmodo.  Students launched  Dancemat Typing website.  Students continued to develop keyboarding skills while using Dancemat Typing. While on Search Shark students learn how to choose effective keywords for searching online. They practice selecting keywords that are most relevant to a search prompt. Along the way, students discover hints for narrowing their search results.
  • Next Time:  Students will continue to practice keyboarding while using Dancemat Typing. Digital Passport -- Communication Twalkers (Students learn why it's important to avoid multitasking with a cell phone. They consider the benefits of focusing on one task at a time.).
