Roberts' Class --  Magazine Cover -- Jazz Musician

Students used a photograph of their jazz musician and an online magazine cover creator, Big Huge Lab Magazine Cover, to create a magazine cover about their jazz musician.  Students located a photograph of their jazz musician online and saved this picture to a jazz folder in their home directory.  Students reviewed the information in their graphic organizer and choose at least 5 supporting details (reasons that represented why the jazz musician was important).  Students accessed magazine cover creator. Students uploaded their jazz musician pics and added their supporting details.  Students printed their finished magazine covers.

Lee's Class -- Virtual Lab "Here Today Gone Tomorrow"-- Day 2

Reviewed "Here Today Gone Tomorrow Virtual Lab."  Students finished planning sheet while working in pairs.  After their work was evaluated by teacher, students ran "Here Today Gone Tomorrow" virtual lab with their partner and recorded their results.  Students shared their results with their peers.
  • Next Time:  WCPSS Student Survey.  Creating a board in Discovery Education's Board Builder.
Barefoot's Class -- Keyboard Practice and Magazine Cover
Students review how to sit in proper keyboarding position. Students practice keyboarding skills while using Typing Web, Dance Mat Typing and/or Nitro Typing.  Students learned to access use an online Magazine Cover creator, Big Huge Labs Magazine Cover with their photograph and a list of things they like about themselves.  Students didn't finish magazine cover due to limited time.
  • Next Time:  Students will practice keyboarding skills.
